Baby Announcement Cookies

Last week, I decided to let everyone at work in on the big surprise. So Kennye and I called the local bakery and ordered two dozen cookies shaped like a Onesie; one dozen was blue and the other pink.

We picked up the cookies the day before heading to our scheduled doctor’s appointment last Friday morning. After seeing the doctor, (and skipping our Puffy Muffin ritual) I hit I-65 and headed towards work.

That morning, THA had one of their building-wide breakfasts, so I knew everyone was going to be stuffed. I waited until around lunch time before taking the big pink bakery box into our break room on the first floor. Then I had to convince my peers (some of whom were about to go exercise) that they needed to try some of the cookies I had brought.

I wondered if everyone would catch on. Sure, I knew the cookies were supposed to look like onesies, but I wondered if everyone else would. Well, the women were certainly not lost on the meaning. As soon as one one of them opened the box, they were all smiles and hugs.
